Inflection HR- Data Integration Module (DIM)

Background: Inflection HR is a full service Payroll and Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO) company combining the best of full service HR management and leading-edge technology. They offer tailored solutions, from their OnePay payroll product, to their full service Professional Employer Organization model (PEO), to suit the needs of every business.

Issue: Infection HR recognized the value of having a fully integrated ERP system to run their business. The Software as a Service (SAAS) model was particularly appealing, as it mirrored the service they provide to their customers.
They use NetSuite for their back office functions, and provide their customers with UltiPro. UltiPro is a premiere HR and payroll system delivered over the web. Billable events created by UltiPro needed to be integrated with NetSuite for accounting and invoicing. They needed a reliable, secure and easy-to-manage solution.

Solution: With the help of Explore Consulting, Inflection HR was able to meet all their business objectives. Explore used their Data Integration Module (DIM) to connect the two systems together. Explore Consulting's DIM, with over 4 years of NetSuite integration development, provided a proven, fail-safe architecture to ensure transactions are never lost. Due to the confidential nature of HR and Payroll, data security was high on the list of requirements.

Data Flow:

• UltiPro HRIS Server - File server from UltiPro. Transaction files are staged daily for download to Explore DIM.
• SFTP - Secure FTP files transfer protocol to the DIM and loaded into staging database
• Data Integration Module - Data verification, transformations, failure management and transaction processing
• SuiteTalk - Secure web services based integration with NetSuite. Invoices, Credits, Checks and Journal Entries are created in NetSuite.
• NetSuite - Back-office functionality plus customer invoicing from UltiPro.

Results: In order to achieve a high success rate, Explore took a proactive approach, by building up the transaction record in a staging area. This included a series of validations, lookups and transformations, so problems are identified early on. In cases where a matching customer is not found in NetSuite, the transaction is linked to a catch-all proxy customer, and a notification is sent to the administrator, who then can take the corrective action. Data is not always predictive, so our approach of validation and corrective notifications, ensured Inflection HR can rely on their systems to work seamlessly.
